How to Find A Word
Literacy Legacy
  Overview · Front Cover · 2 · 3 · 4 · 5 · Back Cover

The Dictionary of Wisdom was a labor of love for Mary French.  It is a unique dictionary in that the sample sentences are chosen to enlighten the reader not only about the word represented, but also about the world in general.  These sentences include quotations from notable Americans and other world leaders, great writers and philosophers, religious texts, folk wisdom, and the vast body of human knowledge and culture.  Take a look inside (by clicking on a page number) and see for yourself.

Unlike the other books available through our project, which are all given directly to students, The Dictionary of Wisdom can be purchased for any use.  Give it as a graduation or birthday gift—or keep it for yourself and gain a deeper understanding of how words form the basis of humanity's greatest ideas.

Your purchase of this book helps to finance our project and provide dictionaries to children whose schools are not part of a sponsor's projects.  We are thankful for your support.
