What a thrill it was for my wife and I and a fellow Rotarian to once again distribute dictionaries to the 3 rd graders at Tarwater Elementary School, Chandler , AZ. The movie documents how we distributed the dictionaries, described the dictionary contents, and illustrated dictionary usage with a variety of example exercises. The 3 rd grade teachers – Susan Donovan Lead – were most supportive and assured us the students would utilize the dictionaries throughout the third grade. They were particularly pleased that EVERY student now had identical dictionaries for the first time.  That facilitated standardized learning for all. The one challenge we received was “Please get the dictionaries to us earlier in the year! We could use them in September”.

The Rotary Motto is “Service Above Self”. Certainly the Dictionary Project applies to the Motto, however, it was such a pleasure and so much fun, we shouldn't take credit for it!!
