Dear Mrs. Amy Whitcomb,

Thank you for donating dictionaries. Now I can spell everything and it is fun. It will help me with my homework and it will help me when I don’t know the meaning of a word. When I am reading a book and a word pops up like insolent, it means rude, insulting, disrespectful. I think it will make me a better speller.

Love,
Erin
West Cornwall, CT

Dear Mrs. Whitcomb,

Thank you for the dictionaries. I think it will come in handy because I am a bad speller. I’m sure this will make me a better student. It is nice to know that the Sharon Grange is helping the third grade! A dictionary is a valuable tool and everyone should have one.

Thank you,
Jonah

Dear Friends,

Thank you for the dictionary that you sent me this year. My mom says that she’s going to buy me a dictionary because I always ask her what a simple word means. I really wanted a dictionary but my mom had to pay the bills and get groceries. This dictionary is really cool and neat. If you wouldn’t have bought me this dictionary I wouldn’t never have a dictionary. Thanks to you.

Yours truly,
Kataeri, Greenwood, SC

Dear Amesville Grange,

Thank you for letting us have these nice , clean , helpful student dictionaries. Now we don’t have to go all the way in the back of the room. Soon I might learn every word in the student dictionary. I found out what oxygen means. It’s a colorless , tasteless , odorless , chemically active gas , the part of air that animals , plants and people need to stay alive.

Sincerely,
Bryden, Amesville , OH

Dear Mrs. French,

Thank you for giving us the dictionary. I can spell a whole lot of words. I can look up words never heard of before. It will help me prepare for the pact test. It will make me smarter. Now I can focus on my work. Now you know about why I like my dictionary.

Yours truly,
Donte, Gaffney, SC

Dear Mrs. French ,

Thank you for the dictionary! I like it a lot. I used the dictionary already. It’s fun using a dictionary. We’re using it on PACT , in writing and reading. I think using this dictionary will help me a lot. I like it a lot. I already learned new words like pan-cre-as which is a large gland under and behind the stomach that secretes insulin to the intestines to help digest food. I looked that up because that’s why my mom has diabetes… because there’s something wrong with her pancreas. I think everyone should have a dictionary!

Your new friend,
Taylor, Gaffney, SC

Dear Mrs. French,
Thank you for your dictionaries that we have. We can guess what the definition is but you gave us dictionaries so we don't have to.

Thank you for the dictionary. It is like a piece of my heart. What I like about the book is it's made by you. Thank you for your hard work. You set a good example. It helped me on PACT. I believe I passed. We appreciate the book. We are careful with them. We need those books for spelling. The reason why I'm writing you a letter is to say thank you.

Your friend,

Dear Mrs. French,

your dictionary really helped me during the P.A.C.T. writing part. I will have no more misspelled words. I'm going to keep it all my life. I want to take it into 4th grade with me. I want to teach my 2nd grade cousin Kelsey how to read a dictionary. So she will be ready for 3rd grade. It is an effective learning aide. Thanks.

Your friend,
Justin, Spartanburg, S
