Join the Dictionary Project team and help with our information technology needs.

Your main job responsibilities will be to:

  • Maintain the organization website by maintenance, upgrades and bug-fixes to keep it operational
  • Maintain the organization web, database and application servers
  • Maintain the office computer and phone network
  • Provide support for remote workers computers and phones
  • Provide software installation, configuration and deployment, and firewall and backups
  • Maintain our remote accounting and remote application infrastructure
  • Maintain and provide support to our e-mail, collaboration tools and domain name
  • Any other tasks as required

Experience in the following areas is required, unless stated otherwise.

  • Visual Studio 2005, 2008 or 2010
  • VB.NET, C# and ASP.NET
  • T-SQL, Stored Procedures (SPs) and User-defined Functions (UDFs)
  • MS SQL Server 2005 or 2008
  • Web services
  • MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Windows XP/Vista/7/Server 2003 and Server 2008
  • Microsoft Windows Terminal Services and RemoteApp
  • Microsoft Office, Symantec Antivirus, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Acrobat
  • LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP)
  • Drupal CMS
  • HTML, JavaScript and AJAX
  • Google Maps integration
  • Network and firewall configuration. Sonicwall experience a plus.
  • Phone and PBX systems, VoIP. Talkswitch experience is a plus
  • Google Apps platform
  • DNS and familiarity with domain registration
  • LogMeIn or other remote support and management tool is a plus
  • PCI compliance or computer and network security training or knowledge is a plus
  • Documentation and report-writing

Other personal skills

  • Ability to work individually or in a team environment
  • Fast and avid learner, ability to learn on the job and open to learning new technologies
  • Self-starter
  • Experience or familiarity with non-profits is a plus
  • Good writing skills

Other aspects of the job

  • May be required to be available for on-call occasionally
  • May require travel to remote offices or remote users
