The Long Beach Public Library Foundation was founded in 1996 by concerned citizens when Long Beach libraries were ranked near the bottom nationwide on spending for books, materials and youth programs. The foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that provides support to the Long Beach Public Library through the procurement of private funds. The Library Foundation provides support and oversees programs designed to promote literacy, academic success, self-help learning and free access to current technologies.
This organization has donated 52,440 books. They have been implementing the project since 2003-2004, with at least 1 clubs/sections participating in the project. They have donated to over 89 school(s) nationwide!
