Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with 1.35 million members in more than 45,000 clubs worldwide. Founded in 1917, Lions are best known for fighting blindness. Lions also volunteer for many different kinds of community projects, including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding seniors and the disabled. The Lions Club motto is "We Serve."
This organization has donated 253,057 books. They have been implementing the project since 2002-2003, with at least 320 clubs/sections participating in the project. They have donated to over 1,049 school(s) nationwide!
So far in 2011-2012, they have donated 58,931 books, giving to students in over 771 schools, and with about 242 clubs participating.
