Bulverde Area Republican Women Receive Creative Thank-You Letter from Students

This past school year, the Bulverde Area Republican Women donated 700 dictionaries to eight local schools in the Comal Independent School District. Every year members write personalized notes of encouragement in each dictionary and teachers have expressed this gesture is truly meaningful to the students. Margie Aaron, third grade teacher at Bil Brown Elementary wrote: “I want to assure you the dictionaries are a truly wonderful gift to give the students. We use them every single day! The students even have contests to see who can find the word the fastest. Thank you again for your kind donation and the notes of encouragement written in the front of the dictionary.” Fran Carlson, Literacy Chairman for the Bulverde Area Republican Women said, “This project is indeed a unique opportunity for our Club to interact with students, their teachers and their families and provide a valuable tool for their education.” This year the club received a very special “thank-you” in the form of a booklet written by the students in one of the third grade classes at Specht Elementary School in San Antonio, Texas. “Over the years we have received hundreds of thank-you letters but none as creative as this,” said Carlson. The booklet’s “unique expression” reflects the personal touch the Bulverde Area Republican Women continuously provide to students in Comal ISD.
