The Superior Kiwanis Club has sponsored the Dictionary Project for third graders in our school district for the past 8 years! Our third graders love the dictionaries and it has been a great PR project for the Superior Kiwanis Club.

Members of the group go to all the schools in the district. In today’s economy, it’s great to give dictionaries to the students so their parents don’t have to buy it, or the teachers or the schools. It’s great for everyone!

In the county of Kosciusko, in Indiana, we have 13 public schools and, ironically, 13 Lions Clubs. Last year, 4 of these Lions Clubs provided dictionaries to 4 of the public schools. It’s going very well, for a 17-member Rotary Club! Our club is a bunch of educators, I’m a retired teacher and the dictionaries are very important to us. The kids and the club members call me “Dictionary Debra”.
