Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon participates in the Dictionary Project

The Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon recently presented each third grader at Hallmark, Allie Yniestra, Pleasant Grove, Blue Angels and Hellen Caro Elementary Schools with their very own dictionary. The total number of dictionaries presented was over 530 and was valued at over $1,800. The Dictionary Project is a national non-profit organization that solicits sponsors to provide a dictionary to every third grade student with the goal of assisting all students to complete the school year as good writers, active readers and creative thinkers.

The Dictionary Project is just another example of how the Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon supports the community and the children of Northwest Florida as they carry out the Kiwanis definition that Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

The Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon provides the members with the opportunity to share their experiences, knowledge, time and talents in service to others. We invite you to attend a Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon Breakfast Meeting at the Perdido Bay Community Center, 13660 Innerarity Point Road, Pensacola, FL 32507, held each Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. More information about Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon can be found on the Club website http://www.biglagoonkiwanis.org/
