Free dictionaries delivered to South Kitsap School District third graders

Bethel and Olalla Grange Hall members are distributing over 750 dictionaries to third grade students in the South Kitsap School District this week. The two Granges decided to join forces on a local civic project and rallied members to donate funds to purchase dictionaries through a non-profit organization called The Dictionary Project.
This is the ninth year the two Granges have donated dictionaries to SKSD students through this project.

The Dictionary Project is a nonprofit organization designed to raise money to provide a dictionary to third grade students in public schools. The ideal of this program is to aid third grade teachers in their goal to see all their students leave at the end of the year as good writers, active readers and creative thinkers. Over 14 million dictionaries have been given out through this program to date. For more information on The Dictionary Project, go to their website at www.dictionaryproject.org.
