Gifts offered to Tecumseh schools

The Tecumseh Board of Education was offered a pair of gifts at Monday night`s meeting.
The board accepted the gift of $901.04 from the Pamida Foundation to be used to help homeless students in the district. The store has a back-to-school fundraiser each fall and matches collections with a donation from the foundation. This was the third year for the effort.
The second gift is the annual dictionary project of the Tecumseh Kiwanis Club. Formal acceptance of the $367 gift is slated for the Dec. 13 meeting. Every year, the club donates dictionaries to third-grade students in the district. This year, 216 have been ordered, said Julie LoMonaco, youth services committee chair of the Kiwanis Club, and should arrive within the next week.
