Rotarians from Heswall donate dictionaries to 400 primary school pupils in Birkenhead

Kind-hearted Rotarians in Heswall gave the gift of words to 400 primary school pupils.
The Year 6 pupils from 14 schools in Birkenhead have been presented with a copy of the Usborne Illustrated Dictionary 4 Life.
The presentations were made by David McDonnell, Vice-Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, and Margaret Twemlow, former chair of governors at Calday Grange School.
The Rotary Club of Heswall has organised the dictionary project for the past three years.
Martin Middleton from the club said: “The Rotary Club has run this worthwhile project for the last three years and we very much hope to be able to continue the venture in 2012.
“It is a delight to see how well these dictionaries are received by the children and I would like to thank all the participating schools for their warm welcome.
“The Rotary Club of Heswall wishes to record its thanks to the Vice-Lord Lieutenant and Mrs. Twemlow for kindly making these presentations and Unilever Research for generously assisting with sponsorship.”
