A dictionary teaches a child how to approach a problem and use critical thinking skills by sounding out the word and finding it in the dictionary. This simple task gives them a feeling of self-confidence and satisfaction that they cannot get online.

Rolling Prairie Lions Club expands project

We, the Rolling Prairie Lions of Indiana District 25a have participated in our 2nd annual dictionary project. We donated a little over 110 dictionaries last year and were flooded with heart warming letters from 3rd graders. This year we donated 174 dictionaries to 3 schools of 3rd graders. Included in the dictionaries were letters explaining the importance of school and how the dictionary functions in their normal school life. The children truly expressed their gratitude facially and by letters. This is an excellent project because our government is not supporting the education of our future leaders. This is pretty sad, but as a Lion, am proud to participate in their continuing education.
