A dictionary teaches a child how to approach a problem and use critical thinking skills by sounding out the word and finding it in the dictionary. This simple task gives them a feeling of self-confidence and satisfaction that they cannot get online.

Presentation of student dictionaries

The dictionaries purchased through The Dictionary Project by the Zeb Vance Ruritan Club were presented to the entire third grade at Zeb Vance Elementary School. They were presented during the school telecast.

Ruritan members present were Winston Kerley and Claude Kerley. This is the fourth year the Zeb Vance Ruritan Club has participated, the first two with the Verizon Pioneers.
