Rotary Club hands out dictionaries to third graders

Members of the Rotary Club of Twin Falls recently handed out dictionaries to the third graders in District 411 as part of one of their annual projects.

Through The Dictionary Project, the club purchases more than 800 dictionaries annually so each student will have their own book. Other clubs through the Rotary District participate in this program. Members of the Rotary Club deliver the dictionaries to the classes.

Not only does the book contain the standard definitions of words but also includes the periodic table of elements, sign language alphabets, the U.S. Constitution, world maps and the longest word in the English language.

During the presentation, members talked about Rotary’s Four-Way Test and different projects that the service club had performed. Funds to purchase the book came from their annual “Death by Chocolate” fundraiser. The Rotary Clubs of Twin Falls meets weekly at the Turf Club on Wednesday at noon.
