Rotary Club of Fillmore Delivers 290 Dictionaries to Local Third Graders
The Rotary Club of Fillmore, California just wrapped up its 19th year participating in The Dictionary Project, continuing its long-standing tradition of empowering young learners through literacy.
Led by Dictionary Project Coordinator Martha Richardson, club members—alongside local law enforcement—visited four local schools: Rio Vista Elementary, San Cayetano Elementary, Mountain Vista Elementary, and Piru Elementary, delivering 290 dictionaries to third grade students and teachers. “The students were thrilled to receive their dictionaries!” Martha shared. “This is a special project that our club looks forward to every year.”
An additional 75 books will be donated to another school or the local Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley, continuing the club’s impact on education in the region.
Now in its 19th year, the Fillmore Rotary Club has made dictionary delivery a cherished local tradition—one that supports literacy, builds community, and encourages lifelong learning in and beyond the classroom.
