Ross Island Earlyrisers Kiwanis Invests in Literacy for Local 3rd Graders

The Kiwanis Club of Ross Island Earlyrisers of Southeast Portland, Oregon, recently donated dictionaries to third grade classrooms at Grout Elementary School and Marysville School. This effort continues the club’s long-standing partnership with The Dictionary Project, which began in 2007.

Teachers have been very supportive of the program, recognizing the value these dictionaries bring to students as they build reading, writing, and research skills. By putting a dictionary into every child’s hands, the club is helping inspire confidence and a lifelong love of learning.
