The Longview Rotary Club has participated in the dictionary project for over 5 years. The Dictionary Project is a great way to give Rotary Clubs the opportunity to purchase dictionaries at an affordable price.

We have given these dictionaries to the 3rd grade students at the Bedford School for several years. This year one of the teachers called on the second day of school to see when we were coming as they use them so much in their classroom. The teachers and students really appreciate them. Our club loves this program. I believe this is our 6th year. We started with two schools and now this year we are working with 15 schools. Now we will be giving over 1200 books to 3rd graders. These dictionaries have such good information and they help children learn to “GOOGLE” a book.

The Apple Valley Rotary Club has been providing dictionaries to all 3rd graders in the Apple Valley Unified School District for at least 15 years. The Dictionary Project is a lifesaver! Without your support, out club could not afford to provide these dictionaries to all our students.

We have been doing this project every year since 2001. We believe it’s a valuable project and the teachers have been asked if it’s still worth while, which they all agree it is.

The program works well. It is inexpensive and the web site is easy to use. The children benefit greatly because of this.

We make a visit to each of our elementary schools that participate with us to make a presentation and then distribute the dictionaries.
