We have been doing this project for several years and it is very special to our whole club. We are a small club in a small county. Many of the children we serve have families with limited resources. So these books are very special to these children.

The Rotary Club of Seaside has been presenting dictionaries to fourth graders for many years. In fact, we have a Rotarian, 25 years old, who still has her dictionary that was presented to her by our rotary club when she was in the fourth grade.

This is our Rotary clubs’ ninth year delivering the dictionaries and each year it is so appreciated. It is a great project needed sorely by some schools especially the Penns Valley SD.

We have been doing the dictionary project for 8 years or so. It is one of my favorite projects. The kids are always excited.

This has been a major community service project for our club for 7 years, beginning in 2006, the year we chartered, and continuing uninterupted every year since. We love it, the kids love it, and its a win-win situation all around. We are grateful that you make this opportunity available for us and clubs like ours and that you contribute so much to the...

I love that I can provide these books. Some people think that kids can just look up words they don’t know on online dictionaries, but most of my students do not have internet access available in their homes, only in school. I encourage the kids to keep their dictionary with them when they read at home and look up words they do not understand.

We always enjoy presenting the dictionaries and watching the excitement in the children. “Is it really mine to keep?” is a question we hear often.
