To assist and encourage Adult ESL students and Grade 3 Elementary School children as they progress from Learning to Read to Reading to Learn. The project is excellent. The children love it; especially the sign language page.

This is the 9th year we have given out the gift of words (dictionaries). This is the greatest program. The teachers in our school system as well as the principal, tell us the dictionaries help their students tremendously. Jean Meehan is the Community Service Chairperson, and she has arranged for the dictionaries along with special book marks to be given to the students each...

We have been participating for well over 5 years–Great program. The members of the Early Act Club at Veterans Memorial Elementary School (the youngest Rotarians) will put labels in the books and help to distribute them to all of the 3rd graders in the District. Last year the Early Act Club from Herbertsville was a big help.

We have been doing this for a long time and enjoy meeting the children and seeing how excited they are to receive their own dictionaries. This is a great way to work with the children in furthering their education.

I think this is a wonderful program, as many of our students are from very low income families, and I’m sure they would not be able to purchase a dictionary for their use.

This has been a very exciting project for our club. Handing out the books to individuals is reward enough. This is our 4th year, and we plan to continue. We had help from other Kiwanis Club members and from Key Clubs at Bellevue East High and Papillion/LaVista High in selling fireworks to raise money for this project.
