We are really happy with the program. You do an excellent job with shipping them out. We receive lots of thank you letters, some gut wrenching. This project reminds us what we take for granted.

The school we sponsor is in an underprivileged area and because of that, this may be the only book a child owns. This is the reason we want these dictionaries that not only have words but also information on the make-up of the United States. The leftover dictionaries are given to an after-school program for boys without fathers in another part of town. This...

Each year we purchase dictionaries to give to every third grader in the Sycamore School District. After the dictionaries arrive, we put Rotary labels in the front, and then deliver the dictionaries to all of the schools. One or two Rotary members go to each third grade class and talk about the dictionaries and then hand them out to each child. This is a...

We held our fundraiser last year; we purchased books last year for our district and are using the remaining funds to purchase books for this year’s 3rd graders. We love the Dictionary Project!

This will be our third year to deliver a dictionary to every third grader in the Pasadena Independent School District. With this current delivery we will have totaled over 13,000 dictionaries delivered in three short years. It is amazing the joy that simple act brings to these kids and in turn the same can be said for the Rotary members. In the Pasadena Independent...

We personally deliver our dictionaries to all 3rd grade students in our district both public and parochial schools. We take pictures of each of the rooms with the students holding their books including the teacher and person doing the delivery. We explain who we are and why reading is so important. I love that you have such nice choices at a reasonable cost. I...

This is our 4th year and it’s always well received. The school puts on an assembly for all the 3rd graders (222 of them) that resembles the Jeopardy show. A panel of students are asked questions and use their dictionary to find the answers. It’s great fun!
