We have been participating in the Dictionary Project for at least 11 years. We think this is a wonderful project and the teachers look forward to us coming and bringing the dictionaries each year.

We generally talk to the students about some the the community projects we have done in town over the years, such as planting trees, assisting with building a bridge, building a pavilion at the pool, sponsoring the foreign exchange student, and how the dictionaries can help them learn about sign language, other planets, presidents, other countries and the longest word. We have been distributing dictionaries to all third grade students for the last six years. Many of the children experience owning their first dictionary and are thrilled to get them.. Project for at least 10 years. Kids are always eager and excited to receive the dictionaries. Teachers use them in the curriculum for the school year. At the conclusion the student takes the dictionary home for future use..

I think this is close to 10 years we have been doing this project. A real highlight for both the students and the Rotarians.. We partner with the Englewood Youth Foundation and Rotary District 6960 to make this happen..
