Edward Lynch, Rotary Club of Warwick, Warwick, NY
We think it is very important to do something special for the students and we feel 4th graders are at the right age to introduce the concept of doing for others. We think it is a great program and the book choices are great.

We have been doing this project for 3 years now. We love this project. From our end it is very easy and the kids and teachers LOVE them.

Four exciting years. This is a program that has no end as there are always more third graders! We have an economically diverse school system. It is interesting to see how differently the children react when handed a free gift. All are thankful, but some have no idea why someone they don’t know would care about them so much that they would give them... Read More

We have participated for a number of years and switched 2 years ago to covering all the third graders in Yell County – it is so appreciated by all the schools and the kids look forward to us coming and bringing them. In a lot of cases – this is the only book the child has ever owned.

This program has been running in our Lodge for the past 9 years; I have been involved for most of them. I was State Youth Chairman for the NYSEA when the program was brought to us and later as NYSEA President and have been a supporter of the program ever since. When Dave Carr introduced me to this program years ago, I feel right... Read More

This is a fantastic program and the third graders and teachers are so appreciative. We really enjoy speaking to the children and presenting them with their own dictionaries. We laugh, tell stories, and take pictures.
Mary Martin, Friends of the South Windsor Public Library, South Windsor, CT
We have participated for 4 years. This year I hope will go as smoothly as the previous years. The joy expressed by the students when they receive their own dictionary is a wonder to behold. The Dictionary Project is wonderful way to get the children interested in life long learning. The Friends are able to finance this project because we have a wonderful group... Read More

Your dictionary program is a blessing; the schools are strapped for funds and the students wouldn’t receive dictionaries if our Lions Club and the Dictionary Project weren’t assisting. Bless you, and thanks again for this important project.
Ruth Nelson, Ohop Grange # 812, Eatonville, WA
I believe this is the 7th year our Grange has donated a dictionary to each 3rd grade student, and their teachers, in the Eatonville School District. By now most of the students know we are coming with the dictionaries and are really excited to get them. I, personally, have had parents and grandparents come to me later at different functions and thank our Grange... Read More

As a 3rd grade class we have dictionaries donated to each student by the local Rotary Club. Because I use the dictionaries so much I want to have a set here in my classroom so the students can take theirs home. This project is great and it is the best dictionary for 3rd graders to use.
