The Rotary Club of Anne Arundel County began our dictionary project in 2004. Since that time we have given out over 10,000 dictionaries to area third graders. It is our favorite project. The Dictionary Project is a wonderful opportunity for our club to support education and connect with the schools. Thank you.

This is the second year that the Waynesville Kiwanis Club has participated in the Dictionary Project. Teams go to each elementary school 3rd grade classroom. We always make an appointment to visit each 3rd grade classroom in the district. Often we combine the visit with the opportunity to have the children learn a little about Rotary as well. We may talk about the 4-Way Test or the Principles of Rotary.

Cobleskill Elks have been donating dictionaries to third graders in the Cobleskill-Richmondville School District for the past five or six years. This is the easiest project in Elks to raise money for as the benefit is intuitively obvious.

7 years of making the 3rd graders in the Rehoboth Beach area very happy! For some of these kids, this is the very first book they ever owned and could put their own name in!

This is our third year distributing dictionaries. The teachers are very happy to have the Rotary continue the program.

Our club has just started their 6th year and has been doing this project from the beginning. Everyone loves to talk to the kids and share the dictionaries with them.

This is the second year our club has sponsored this program for our county school system. The genuine thankfulness of the 3rd graders last year when they received their dictionary was priceless!
