This is our second year to participate in the dictionary project. Last year we started with one school and ended up supplying books to 3 schools. This year we are starting with 3 schools! We will present the books to the third graders in these three schools and talk briefly about the fabulous resource. Web site is very easy to use. Thanks.

We have been participating in the Elks dictionary project since its inception. Great program. Our principals tell us that the students are seen carrying and using the dictionaries through their high school years.

Members of our Rotary Club will visit the public and private schools in the Centerville/Washington Township area and distribute the dictionaries to third graders and the thesauri to fifth graders. We have done this for 4 years. Great project, kids love the books.

One of the best projects I have been involved with! The gratitude of the students is overwhelming.

For the last three years we have been participating in the Guys Read Program at Bayside Elementary School in Virginia Beach. Our lodge members volunteer to read to children and we also participate in related events. The kids love us when we show up with the dictionaries. We enjoy the positive response from teachers and students.

We have done this for several years with many Club members participating. All participants are thrilled with the reception of the students to the idea of owning their own book and immediately open it. It’s a wonderful project, third graders receive it with excitement!

We love the kids in our community and plan this program every year. It has been a good bridge between the teachers and community leaders of our local area.
