This is the second year for the project, and we’ve already increased from three schools to five. The children LOVE the books!!!

The Denton Rotary has done this project for several years now. The number of local partners is growing.. While more and more information can be found online, there still is nothing like owning your own books, including a dictionary. The looks on our third graders faces and their spoken and written thanks confirms this every year..

Quite honestly, there were board members who doubted the usefulness of this project. After they saw the student’s eyes and their obvious delight, and heard praise from the teachers, their own enthusiasm grew. We love it.

The Rotary Club of Hillsboro has been distributing the dictionaries for several years. We are always warmly received by the 3rd grade teachers and the students do appreciate receiving their own dictionary. we consider this to be a very good program which fits well with our literacy projects..

As mentioned earlier, the Glencoe Lions have been participating since 2005, and this is the first year the four additional Lions Clubs that have students in School District #2859 are assisting with this project.. The Dictionary Project is great! The teaching staff look forward to having the students receive the dictionaries, and immediately, they incorporate them in their daily lesson plan..

This is the 6th year we have done this. Students mention that their older sibling has a dictionary like this.. This is the best project we take on for community service. Students love the books, and teachers are also grateful.

This is one of the projects which we enjoy doing the most. The gratitude which we get from the students and teachers is amazing. We will continue this project next year and the year after.
