This is the sixth year the Lodge has provided dictionaries in these two school districts. It is very rewarding to meet some of the recipients and read the letters they send us. It’s a great program.

We think the Dictionary Project is a powerful way to impact the lives of our students and provides Ada Rotary with a “signature project” that gives focus to our fundraising and public service endeavors. We began with three nearby schools last year and have added a fourth this year. This project has the unanimous support of our membership.

We have been doing this for over ten years. We hear nothing but great things about this project from the schools, Kiwanians and others we tell about this project. We have told others clubs about this and they have started projects in their area.

We first donate about 60% of the books to all local third graders across two public districts (12 classes). We donate the remaining 40% to middle school and high school students that study English as a second language. Many of these older students are refugees from the Middle East. Boise Sunrise Rotary has been doing this for about 4 years. We involve the newer club members as it’s an easy way to get started on a community service project. Each year we get lots of thank you notes from the students.. I think it’s a great project!.

We enjoy giving the dictionaries to the children, and the children are really excited to get them.

This has become an important program for us. The dictionaries are lovely, and well-received.

This project is one of our Club’s favorites. We love to see the smiles on the faces when they receive the dictionaries. It’s a great program that we hope to continue with every year. It’s a great program. Keep it up.

Troy Rotary Club in PA has participated in the Dictionary Project for several years now. It has to be the easiest yet most rewarding project we do. The students are excited to have a book of their own, and we have students now in college that still use that dictionary.

Donating dictionaries to the third graders at Deep River Elementary School has become a tradition for our club–an annual event. We love to see how thrilled the students are to receive their very own dictionary!
