This will be our Rotary Club’s first year to participate. Since Altrusa Club of Greenwood has been distributing dictionaries to third graders in Leflore County over the years, the Rotary Club of Greenwood decided to distribute thesauruses to fifth graders in Leflore County. I am very impressed with the Dictionary Project and hope that eventually every child nationwide will benefit from this program.

This is our second year for distributing these dictionaries. This is a wonderful project. The children love it and are so proud to get the dictionaries. Our Rotary Club members are happy to take part in this project.

This is the fifth year that Kiwanis has sponsored this project. Our membership supports this endeavor completely and enjoys hearing from the children after they receive their dictionaries. The children are well aware of the project after hearing about it from older siblings and really look forward to the day that we arrive with their own dictionary.

Can’t wait to see the children’s faces when we share this wonderful learning tool! So many are excited because now they have their own, just like their brother’s or sister’s.

Our Rotary Club is very involved in assisting in the needs of our community. Every year we give dictionaries to the 3rd graders at Vineland Elementary School in Englewood, FL. Some of these children have never owned a book before & just to see the joy in their faces & the proud way they receive their dictionaries is wonderful.

This will be our third year of supporting the Dictionary Project. We love it. We get very favorable reaction from the school, the teachers, the students, and their parents.

We have done this for about 8 years. We think this is a fantastic project and gets a useful tool into the hands of children that probably would never get one. It is also good for them to look up the words instead of relying on a computer to spell.
