This is the third season we are providing dictionaries to our local schools. We are excited to have been able to add Urbana Elementary this year to the schools being served. I think this is 100% great!

This is the 6th year Winnsboro Rotary Club has participated in this project. It is one of the most rewarding projects our club does each year.

We go into the classroom to do the distribution; the kids beam with gratitude.

This is our 3rd year participating in the project. When giving these books out to the students, you would think that Christmas had come with the excitement in their eyes and the eagerness they show to use them. ‘Thank you!’ for what you do for our youth!

This is our 4th year of participation. The children love the dictionary, which gives much more information than just words.

For five exciting years now, this project never fails to warm the heart and bring adults a “reality check”. Each year brings new students, but also new hurdles to overcome to implement this project. There is never any doubt that we will find a way to be successful.

Many of these children are from low income homes, and to know that they now have a book of their own, to carry home and treasure, causes their faces to light up like the sun thru the opaque windows of the classroom.

Each year the young people are excited to have this gift of a dictionary presented to them by adults who they see as leaders and positive role models in their community.

The Logan Rotary club has provided dictionaries to all grade 3 students in the county over the past several years. We believe that grade 3 is a crucial year, as this is the first year students are required to take the Ohio Achievement Test. The dictionary provides a resource for the students as they learn and expand their vocabulary.
