Jerry Wesley, Rotary Club of Hillsboro, Witt, IL
The Rotary Club of Hillsboro has donated dictionaries to Hillsboro CUSD 3 third graders for several years. We are happy to continue this as part of our literacy effort. The response from teachers and students has always been outstanding and makes it easy for us to decide to continue with this project.

This will be our 6th year of handing out the dictionaries. This a very good project. It is nice to see the looks on the kids’ faces when they are told that they can keep the dictionaries forever.
Nancy Brown, Rotary Club of Berne, Berne, IN
We have been distributing dictionaries to area third graders for a number of years, and the students and teachers are very appreciative. We are glad for the opportunity to distribute dictionaries through the Dictionary Project. Thank you for making this possible.

The project really sets kids on fire. Before, we had a few dictionaries students could share, but they were old and worn out. Having their own dictionaries empowers them to look up new words on their own, rather than wait for me or just skip it.
Fond du Lac Evening Optimists, Fond Du Lac, WI
We’ve done this for 4 years and it is one of the most rewarding programs we’ve ever done.
John Gates, Rotary Club of Beauregard Vernon Sunrise, Deridder, LA
This is but one of our Rotary Club projects and our members all think it is so good.
Donald Walter, Rotary Club of Greater Severna Park, Severna Park, MD
We were skeptical at first, but as the project matured students and teachers expressed delight at receiving the dictionaries.
Kathy Hartung, Rotary Club of Mercersburg, Mercersburg, PA
We have been participating for 7 years. This is one of our favorite projects. The feedback we get from the students and teachers is very gratifying.
Karen Henke, Santa Clarita Elks Lodge # 2379, Canyon Country, CA
We joined the Dictionary Project eight years ago. The first year we did 2 schools, then 4 schools, then 8 schools 2 years in a row. This year we will again be able to reach every student because of the donations from our Santa Clarita Elks #2379, our Kamper Klub, the Rotary Club, and various members’ donations. What a great project. We so love... Read More
