Elks give dictionaries to students

Temecula Valley Elks Lodge #2801 has again joined with The Dictionary Project, a national organization, to give student dictionaries to third graders.
So far this year the group has delivered dictionaries to seven elementary schools in the Temecula Valley Unified School District.
The schools are: Abbe Reinke Elementary School, Helen Hunt Jackson Elementary School, Nicholas Valley Elementary School, Pauba Valley Elementary School, Rancho Elementary School, Temecula Elementary School and Ysabel Barnett Elementary School.
A total of 948 dictionaries have been presented. In February the Elks plan to hand out dictionaries at least five more elementary schools.
Temecula Valley Elks joined in this project in 2005. The effort has grown from one campus in the first year to a goal of 12 this school year.
Nationally, the Dictionary Project reached 2,398,506 students last year.
