Orange Elks third-grade dictionary project

Over 15,700 dictionaries have been handed to third graders the Orange Unified School District. This huge undertaking is designed to place a personal dictionary in the hands of every third grader within the district each year.

This is a year-long project. The Orange Elks Lodge collects donations, checks with the school district for the number of third graders, orders the dictionaries, stamps them with the Orange Elks logo and then delivers them to the classrooms.

Thirty-two lodge members stamped 2,400 dictionaries, and forty Orange Elks went to 31 schools (80 classrooms) and handed each child their own dictionary.
