Iron Range Rotarians Strengthening Literacy and Confidence in Third Graders!
The Iron Range Rotary Club delivered dictionaries to third grade classrooms around the Iron Range, including ones at Merritt Elementary School (left) and Marquette Catholic School.
In 2025 the Iron Range Rotary Club of Virginia, MN proudly distributed 288 dictionaries to third graders in Virginia, Mountain Iron, Aurora, and Tower, introducing students to a hands-on learning tool they can use at school and take home for years to come.
Third grade is a pivotal time when students shift from learning to read to reading to learn. These age-appropriate dictionaries go beyond definitions, offering maps, facts, measurement guides, and more—encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and screen-free learning.
