Adore, through the French verb adorer (worship, adore) from the Latin verb adoro, adorare, adoravi,adoratum (pray to, beseech, honor, worship), a combination of the prepositional prefix ad- (to, toward) and the verb oro, orare, oravi, oratum (plead, beg, entreat, pray).
