We have been donating dictionaries for 7 or 8 years now here in Nottoway County. Children and teachers seem to look forward to our coming with the books. Sometimes children will tell us that their brother or sister received a dictionary from us last year or even several years ago. We’ve been stopped on the street by kids who remember us coming to give...

The children are very appreciative of this gift. It is very...

We are in our seventh year with this project. Students look forward to receiving their dictionary because they know their older siblings have theirs and got it in the 3rd grade.. This is the best project we take on for community service. Students love the books, as do the teachers. All are grateful and we are known for the dictionaries we distribute..

We love seeing the look on the children’s faces when we give them the dictionary. For some of them, this is the first book that is truly their own. Many can not believe that we are giving a dictionary to them. We enjoy the thank you notes the children send to us. The standardized test scores have improved in several of the schools where...
