Thank you, Rotary Club!

The Rotary Club of Mountainside, NJ, gave dictionaries and thesauruses to students at Beechwood and Deerfield Schools in the Mountainside School District. The fourth-grade classes received the thesauruses and used them to write some lovely thank-you letters.

Dear Mr. Mortimer and Members of the Mountainside Rotary Club,
Thank you for the superior thesaurus. I use it a lot of the time. I usually keep it at school. I also use it during some of my work like centers. I also use it almost every day for when I write letters, poems, and essays. I mostly use the thesaurus for synonyms, antonyms, and for finding new words for ones I don’t like.
I thought a thesaurus was the same thing as a dictionary because they both have synonyms but, what I learned is that a thesaurus not only has synonyms, but antonyms too! The thesaurus is not just a great thing to have but, a great thing to use!
Sincerely,
Joshua

Dear Mr. Mortimer and Members of the Mountainside Rotary Club,
Thank you for the thesaurus! I write a lot in fourth grade so I will get to use it almost every day. Also, I will use it a lot in center work. In centers my class has a page with synonyms and antonyms so it will be a perfect match to the page.
I cannot believe that this thesaurus has over 122,000 words! I will use it whenever I can.
I love my thesaurus!
From,
Kyle

Dear Mr. Mortimer and Members of the Mountainside Rotary Club,
Thank you for the thesaurus! I have been using it every day in my writing. One time I looked up the word "great" and I got "spectacular."
My writing has gotten a lot better. Every day I bring it to and from school, so I always get super words.
Thank you for the thesaurus again and I hope to see you next year.
From,
Michael

Dear Mr. Mortimer and Members of the Mountainside Rotary Club,
Thank you so much for the thesaurus. I use it for my centers and my writing pieces. It is helpful because we do a lot of writing in fourth grade. It feels good to get rid of overused words.
Thanks a lot!
From,
Erin

Dear Mr. Mortimer and Members of the Mountainside Rotary Club,
Thank you for the Thesaurus. The Thesaurus is a great help with synonyms and antonyms for work. I love the thesaurus because firstly, it has over 1,500 synonyms and antonyms in it. Secondly, it is a good help with school work like our LAL packets and our writing. Thirdly, I love the Thesaurus because it’s different from an almanac.
Sincerely,
Jonathan
P. S. When I grow up I want to be in the Mountainside Rotary Club.

Dear Mr. Mortimer and Members of the Mountainside Rotary Club,
Thank you for the thesaurus. We use it for a lot of work, like centers and writing. I really like it because it helps me for my synonyms and for antonyms if I don’t want to keep using the same words. You can see I use it for a lot of school work.
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Chris

Dear Mr. Mortimer and Members of the Mountainside Rotary Club,
Many thanks for coming to visit my class on Friday and distributing the wonderful thesauri to my students. As you see from the letters, they are very excited about having and using them. We really do write a lot in my class, and a thesaurus is of tremendous value for all of the fourth graders.
Thank you again. Please come and visit us whenever you like.
Sincerely yours,
Judith Segall
