Third graders receive dictionaries from Marysville Elks

On December 13 and 14, the Marysville Elks Lodge #1130 presented dictionaries to all of the third graders in the Marysville, North Union, Fairbanks, Jonathan Alder, St. Paul, St. John, and Trinity school systems. These third-grade students at Navin Elementary School were excited to receive the dictionary and were equally excited to learn that it was theirs to keep and take with them to the fourth grade. This marks the 6th year that the Marysville Elks have participated in the Dictionary Project. According to Kermit Morse III, the Dictionary Project manager, “We feel that a child cannot do his or her best work without a dictionary, and that’s why we do this annual project. We are also extremely grateful to the Elks National Foundation because if we had not received a Gratitude Grant, it would have been difficult to purchase the 800 dictionaries for the students.”
