The Rotary Club of Irvington Brings the Gift of Words During February

The Rotary Club of Irvington (RCOI) conducts their annual dictionary project during the month of February. Alison Bryant, Assistant Governor for Rotary District 7470 and RCOI Dictionary Project Coordinator, explained, “There are several pivotal moments within February.” February is “Black History Month” and the United Way of Essex/West Hudson sponsors the “Celebrity Read” program throughout the Township of Irvington Public schools – not to mention Valentine’s Day. “We considered the dictionary to be a gift of words and their meaning,” said Bryant, “What better Valentine gift, than a dictionary?” The Rotary Club of Irvington has participated in The Dictionary Project for 5 years, donating over 4,000 books to students Essex County, New Jersey.
