The Kiwanis Club of Reisterstown has participated in The Dictionary Project for four consecutive years, donating dictionaries to children in Baltimore County Public Schools. Last fall members distributed around 600 dictionaries to seven elementary schools in their community. Project Coordinator Michael D. Grimes stated, “Our members really enjoy going to the schools, passing out the books, and interacting with the children as we walk them through the various features of the book. It is enjoyable to see how excited the students get just to have a dictionary of their own and write in their names on the second page. We look forward to this every year.” Since beginning the project, the Reisterstown Kiwanis have given the gift of a dictionary to over 2,500 students in the Baltimore area. We appreciate the dedication of each member to promote education in their community.
