Rotary Club of Wagoner Delivers Dictionaries to Third Graders in Oklahoma

Third grade students in Wagoner and Porter, Oklahoma were all smiles as they received a personal dictionary—thanks to the Rotary Club of Wagoner. The club recently distributed the books to local elementary schools, bringing excitement and educational value to each classroom.

This initiative is part of the Rotary Club’s commitment to literacy through The Dictionary Project, which they’ve proudly supported since 2006. Over the years, their efforts have helped students build vocabulary skills, discover new words, and develop a love for language at an early age.

The students expressed joy and curiosity as they flipped through their dictionaries, many seeing this as the first book they can call their own. Projects like these remind us how a simple gift—like a dictionary—can spark lifelong learning.
