Algoma Lions Club Supports Literacy with Annual Dictionary Donation

Since 2012, the Algoma Lions Club in Wisconsin has proudly supported third-grade literacy by providing every 3rd grader in Algoma with their own personal dictionary. Through their partnership with The Dictionary Project, the club has empowered students to build vocabulary and develop lifelong reading skills.

Funded through creative community efforts such as steak fries, cookouts, and bed sheet sales, the club’s project has become a beloved tradition. “The students get so excited when they get it knowing it is their personal dictionary,” shared a club member.

By providing these essential learning tools, the Algoma Lions Club helps ensure that children in their community have access to educational resources that support reading, writing, and academic success.
