Kiwanis Club of Lapeer Inspires Literacy for 850+ Students with Annual Dictionary Donation

Since 2008, the Kiwanis Club of Lapeer in Michigan has been a proud partner of The Dictionary Project, gifting personal dictionaries to every third-grade student in Lapeer County. This year, over 850 students will receive their very own dictionaries—bringing the club’s total impact to nearly 13,000 students since the project began.

Alongside the dictionary presentation, Kiwanians also read a holiday story to the children, making the occasion both educational and memorable. The club’s mission is to help students become strong writers, engaged readers, creative thinkers, and independent learners.

By combining tradition, community service, and literacy, the Lapeer Kiwanians are making a lasting difference in classrooms throughout the county.
