Rotary Club of Rockledge Teams Up with Interact Students to Deliver Dictionaries
Since 2006, the Rotary Club of Rockledge in Florida has partnered with The Dictionary Project to provide third graders in the area with their very own personal dictionaries—reaching more than 5,200 students over the years.
This year, high school students from the Rockledge High School Interact Club joined the effort, presenting dictionaries and guiding third graders on how to use them—including how to look up the longest word in the English language. The younger students loved learning from their older peers, making it a fun and interactive day.
The annual event, known locally as Dictionary Day, is made possible through Rotary grant funding and highlights Rotary’s continued commitment to youth education and literacy.
