Third grade students at Kate Starr Kellogg Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois recently received a surprise that left them smiling—a personal dictionary, gifted by Dr. Joseph Kovacs, a proud alumnus of the school.

Dr. Kovacs, who attended Kellogg Elementary as a child, returned to give back in a meaningful way. By donating dictionaries, he is helping today’s students build their vocabulary, sharpen their reading skills, and foster a lifelong love of learning.

The books, provided in partnership with The Dictionary Project, are more than just dictionaries—they’re comprehensive learning tools filled with maps, U.S. history facts, and much more.
