Lilburn Woman’s Club Brings Dictionaries to Over 1,200 Students

This fall, the Lilburn Woman’s Club in Georgia partnered with the Mail and Package Center, Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #431, and the Lilburn Business Association to deliver personal dictionaries to every third grade student in Lilburn. In total, more than 1,200 students received their very own dictionary!

The project was funded through generous grants from Believe in Reading and Walton EMC, as well as contributions from club members and community partners. The initiative is part of the club’s ongoing efforts to strengthen education through The Dictionary Project.

Third grade teachers expressed deep appreciation, noting that the dictionaries support their classroom study plans, help with end-of-year assessments, and contribute to the new focus on building student vocabulary. Many students, especially those from families where English is a second language, also enjoy sharing the valuable resource with their families at home.

Thanks to the Lilburn Woman’s Club and their partners, thousands of students now have a lasting tool for literacy and learning.
