Raleigh Midtown Kiwanis Brings Dictionaries and Values to North Ridge Students
On April 11, 2024, four members of the Raleigh Midtown Kiwanis Club in North Carolina visited North Ridge Elementary School to present 140 third-grade students with their very own personal dictionaries. As part of the club’s participation in the Dictionary Project, each of the school’s seven third-grade classrooms received a dedicated visit.
During their time with the students, Kiwanians didn’t just hand out books—they led short, engaging lessons on how to use a dictionary, helping students look up powerful words like trust and respect, while discussing their meanings. The hands-on learning session brought language to life and reinforced the Kiwanis International mission of improving the world “one child and one community at a time.”
By supporting foundational literacy and social-emotional learning, the Raleigh Midtown Kiwanis Club is investing in more than just words—they’re helping build confident, thoughtful future leaders.
