Rotary Club of Cambridge Revives Dictionary Project for Dorchester County Students
The Rotary Club of Cambridge in Maryland launched its participation in The Dictionary Project in 2006, presenting personal dictionaries to third-grade students in both public and private schools across Dorchester County.
While the project was paused during the Covid pandemic, it was proudly revived this year, bringing smiles back to students’ faces. Cambridge Rotarian Phil Reed shared:
“For many recipients, their faces beam when they receive the books, often the only book they own.”
Since the program began, the club has provided over 6,300 dictionaries to local students, helping to promote literacy, encourage curiosity, and foster a love for learning.
The Rotary Club of Cambridge’s ongoing commitment to education continues to leave a lasting impact, one dictionary at a time.
