Rotary Club of Wellington Donates Illustrated Dictionaries to Wellesley Park Students
The Rotary Club of Wellington recently visited Wellesley Park Primary School to gift third-grade students with copies of the Usborne Illustrated Dictionary 4 Life, a colorful and comprehensive learning tool designed to boost literacy and curiosity in young minds.
The visit, which took place during lunchtime, gave Rotarians the opportunity to interact with the students informally before making their presentation. The children were excited not only by the surprise visit but also by the vibrant, information-packed dictionaries they received.
The Dictionary 4 Life is more than just a word list—it features:
-
1,000 illustrations,
-
10,000 entries,
-
20,000 definitions,
-
and 288 pages printed on sustainable paper.
It also includes grammar tips, a history of the English language, and internet-friendly vocabulary for modern learners.
Now in its 15th year, the Dictionary 4 Life Project has delivered over 1 million illustrated dictionaries to primary school students across the UK, all funded by local Rotary clubs as part of their ongoing mission to promote literacy and education.
Wellesley Park pupils were thrilled to receive such a meaningful gift—one they can use at home and at school as they grow their vocabularies and love for reading.
