South Rutland Rotary Club Donates 5,800 Dictionaries Since 2004

Since 2004, the Rotary Club of South Rutland, Vermont has partnered with The Dictionary Project to support literacy and learning among third-grade students. Over the past two decades, the club has proudly donated more than 5,800 dictionaries to local students.

This year alone, club members visited 8 schools and personally presented dictionaries to over 240 excited third graders. These visits are about more than just handing out books—they’re moments of encouragement, showing students that their community is invested in their education and future.

By giving students a tool they can use both in school and at home, the Rotary Club helps promote independent learning and a strong foundation in reading and writing skills.
