Wahoo Area Kiwanis Dictionary Donation Reaches 2,250 Students Across Saunders County
The Wahoo Area Kiwanis dictionary donation program continues to inspire and educate third grade students across Saunders County, Nebraska. Over the past two months, club members delivered dictionaries to excited students at Mead Elementary, St. Wenceslaus Elementary, Wahoo Elementary, and St. John Elementary.
“This is definitely one of our most favorite times of the year,” the club shared on Facebook. “The students are always excited and very appreciative of their reference tool!”
Since partnering with The Dictionary Project in 2009, the Wahoo Area Kiwanis Club has provided 2,250 third grade students with a personal dictionary. These reference books are designed to support vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and lifelong learning.
The club funds the initiative through a variety of community fundraisers, including chocolate sales, quilt raffles, and garage sales. Their dedication to literacy ensures that each new class of students is equipped with the tools they need to succeed.
